When my students challenged me back in 2014 to post an #OOTD (Outfit of the Day) to my social accounts each day, I never realized it was going to become a whole thing. I mean, it was a joke to me… just something I did to be funny. But then, people started paying attention, asking questions, and encouraging me to keep going… so I did. In time, those silly posts morphed into something more.
Over the last few years, I have started this blog, participated in influencer events, built relationships with local creators, had important conversations with a few major brands (some of whom I have been lucky to represent), and grown in tremendous confidence in photo shoots. I am proud of what I have done, however modest my following may be. I really believe that I can be an influencer of note, if given the opportunity and an audience.
I know that I may never hit the BIG TIME… but I would love to try. Somewhere in the vast internet world, there has to be a place for a relatively ordinary, 40+ fat lady to make a difference and be heard.
