STL Adventures: Boujee Tea at La Patisserie

Have you ever entered a place so beautiful and magical that it brings you joy? A place filled to the brim with sugary, delectable treats too perfect to eat? Somewhere so Instagrammably wonderful you want to share it with your friends and never leave? I have found that perfect place in La Patisserie St. Louis. It is all things perfect, pink, Parisian… and filled with pastries!

La Patisserie was created by the imagination of baker and entrepreneur Kitt Villasis-Corbin. (Listen to the whole story on STL Bucket List‘s podcast.) Step inside her unassuming Florissant cafe and you will be transported to Paris. Bistro tables and cozy chairs, surrounded by blooming pink flowers and the Eiffel Tower, invite you to sit down and order something lovely to eat. La Patisserie offers a daily menu of bistro classics like French onion soup and a croque madame, baked goods like scones and cookies, and drinks including coffee, tea, and boba. They have a selection of beautifully decorated macarons and cake pops and Instagram-worthy magical drinks. Plus, the cafe offers tea service and themed brunches on the weekends by reservation.

I was recently invited to try the cafe’s newest themed brunch, Life is Gucci. I invited my friend, Megean, along to join me for a couple of hours of conversation, while dining in style. Upon arrival, we were shown to a table with Gucci themed name cards and a list of fun facts about the design house as a conversation starter. All around the cafe, there were homages to the Gucci brand, including the clothes the servers were wearing.

The brunch, which costs $75 per person, includes three courses and a pot of tea. Since the theme for this brunch was Gucci, most of the menu was Italian inspired. The first course was a caprese salad and warm bread, served with oil and balsamic vinegar. For the second course, we both chose the mushroom risotto. It was presented beautifully, topped with micro-greens and a carnation. The risotto was SO creamy and bursting with umami flavor. We both loved it.

But truly the crowning moment of this brunch is the dessert course. We were presented with a tiered tray featuring tiramisu, macarons, petit fours, cannoli, and cake pops with the Gucci logo. Every single item was as delicious as it was beautiful. The macarons were perfectly fluffy and creamy. Plus, I’m not even a coffee lover and the tiramisu was to die for! Everything we couldn’t eat was nicely packaged up, so we could take it home and share it with our husbands.

We thoroughly enjoyed our boujee brunch experience at La Patisserie. The service was kind and attentive and the food was amazing. We even had a visit from chef Kitt, herself, who was gracious and kind. The setting of the cafe is cozy and inviting, and we were welcomed to stay and enjoy each other’s company as much as we liked. We had so much fun snapping pictures, dining, laughing, and catching up on life. It really is a magical way to spend time with a friend or your sweet mamma. (There was the most adorable mother and daughter there at the same time as we were!)

La Patisserie hosts themed brunches every weekend from February to December. Each brunch is themed around a different fashion design house. This year’s themes include Gucci, Dolce and Gabbana, Tiffany, Louis Vuitton, and Chanel… plus a special Emily in Paris theme for October. I know I will definitely be back. I would love to take my mom, my sister, and my nieces when they visit from out of town.

Stop in to La Patisserie for a treat to go, or stay for the entire tea experience. The cafe is open Tuesday- Friday 9-2 and Saturday 9-3.
